This miniature portrait is signed "E Lohwag 1930". This was the maiden name of Ernestine Szablya-Frischauf (1878-1940), an Austrian artist who was born in Vienna and died in Budapest. Working at the height of Sezessionstil her art varied, from symbolism in the style of Gaugin around 1911, to works like you see here in fine detailed miniature throughout the 1930s.
